Web of Knowledge access problem

We've been getting reports of people encountering error messages when they attempt to log in to the Web of Knowledge. As far as we are aware, there is no current issue with access to Web of Knowledge and the problems are happening sporadically. We're in contact with the vendors to try and sort this out, but in the meantime, if you do get an error message, try accessing it via this URL: http://wok.mimas.ac.uk/cgi-bin/wayf?idp=aston.ac.uk. If you have any queries about this, please comment on this post.

  2. Hi. Could you try clearing your cache and cookies and then trying again? http://wok.mimas.ac.uk/faq/answers.html#Q6.5

  4. The Shibboleth and Athens login systems are used by the majority of higher education institutions and subsequently any problems that Aston stduents/staff have with accessing online resources are often replicated elsewhere. If you are having problems logging in to a specific resource, please contact us at library@aston.ac.uk with details and we will try to help.

  5. Update from Web of Knowledge: If you've tried the URL above and still get error messages, try this route:

    Go to:
    http://sub3.isiknowledge.com/error/Error?Domain=isiknowledge.com&Error=IPError&Src=IP&PathInfo=%2F&RouterURLhttpf3A%2F%2Fisiknowledge.com

    - Select 'Shibboleth authentication'.
    - Select 'UK Federation' from the 'Select your institution's group or regional affiliation' drop down box.
    - Search for Aston University.
    - Enter university username and password.

If the error message persists, try clearing the cache and cookies from your web browser (further information available in the FAQ: http://wok.mimas.ac.uk/faq/answers.html#Q6.5) and then close and re-open the browser before trying to access again as above.
